Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is optimistic that Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford could be available for Manchester United’s clash with Brighton on Sunday.

Rashford played no part in England’s fixtures during the international break because of a foot injury, while Greenwood was forced to pull out of the England U21s squad for their doomed European Championship campaign.

Solskjaer says Anthony Martial is unlikely to be fit, but is hopeful of having the English duo ready to be involved.

“I don’t know about Anthony, he didn’t join in training this morning… but Marcus and Mason trained and hopefully they can get through that with no reaction,” Solskjaer said.

“If they complete the session tomorrow they might be available for selection.”

Meanwhile, the Norwegian refused to shed any light on whether David de Gea or Dean Henderson will start in goal, with the latter having been a regular before the international break.

“They both know we value them highly,” Solskjaer said. “I’ve got great options, top goalkeepers, but both want to play. That will be decided on merit.

“We want to go all the way in the Europa League, I’m sure you’ll see both of them.”

Man United predicted XI: Henderson; Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Lindelof, Shaw; Fred, McTominay, Pogba; Fernandes, Rashford, Cavani.
