Thomas Tuchel will hope Thiago Silva is ready to return from a thigh injury when Chelsea host Everton on Monday.

The Brazil defender is back in training, but has not played since the start of February in the win against Tottenham.

Tammy Abraham is also trying to get over an ankle problem that ruled him out Wednesday’s win against Liverpool.

But even if Thiago is available, Tuchel still faces a decision over whether to Andreas Christensen out of the team after his outstanding performances in recent weeks.

The Chelsea manager said: “Andreas stepped in in the middle of the first half against Tottenham, which was a really tough thing to do, and from the first minute, he’s been absolutely impressive.

“He’s brave, strong in individual challenges, brave and intelligent in the build-up, and plays with a lot of confidence.

“I am absolutely happy with his performances and how he’s stepped up. He’s been a big part of our performances.”
