Chelsea team news: Double injury boost as Thiago Silva and Kai Havertz return to training
Chelsea have been boosted by the return to training of Kai Havertz and Thiago Silva, raising hopes they could be ready for Saturday’s Premier League game at Southampton. Centre-half Silva has been missing since pulling up with a thigh injury in the 1-0 win at Tottenham on February 4, while fellow summer signing Havertz has missed the last four matches with a knock. In Silva’s absence, Andreas Christensen has performed well in the heart of Thomas Tuchel’s three-man defence so the Brazilian may not be rushed back at St. Mary’s, although his experience could be invaluable in next Tuesday’s Champions League last-16 first leg against Atletico Madrid.
