Club Brugge star Emmanuel Dennis has been left out of their squad to face Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday due to disciplinary issues after reportedly storming off the team bus.

The 23-year-old striker scored in the 2-1 win against Zenit St Petersburg in their first Champions League Group F fixture of the season, but will not get a chance to add to that tally at Signal Iduna Park after a reported outburst.

According to Belgian outlet Het Laatste Nieuws, the Nigerian’s omission follows his angry reaction on the team bus to not being allowed to sit where he wanted, with Brugge having placed strict measures on the bus amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The report adds that the forward – who was linked with Arsenal and Napoli earlier this year – will be fined for his petulant behaviour.

Brugge boss Philippe Clement confirmed Dennis was dropped as a result on  disciplinary grounds, stating he is fit but not available for the group stage fixture against Lucien Favre’s men.

‘Dennis is fit, but not in our selection,’ he said. ‘He didn’t follow the club’s rules, that’s all I want to say about that.

‘I prefer to concentrate on the players who are available to me.’

The 23-year-old has been with the Belgian outfit since joining from Leicester’s current Europa League group opponents Zorya Luhansk in 2017.

He also netted twice in a Champions League clash at the Bernabeu in a 2-2 draw with Real Madrid in October last year, as well as scoring against Manchester United in their Round of 32 Europa League home tie in February.

Club Brugge currently sit third in their current Champions League group, having taken four points from their first three games.

They now travel to Germany looking to exact some revenge on Dortmund, who beat them 3-0 on matchday three at the beginning of the month.

Meanwhile, young Dortmund star Youssoufa Moukoko could become the youngest ever player to feature in Europe’s elite competition.

The forward broke the Bundesliga record when he made his debut for the German side in their 5-2 thrashing of Hertha Berlin.

Moukoko could now set another record currently held by former Chelsea star Celestine Babayaro (16 years, 87 days old) – who featured for Anderlecht in 1994 – having only turned 16 himself on Friday.

Asked if he could feature, Favre said: ‘It’s hard to say and to answer immediately. We will see today in training and we have a lot (of players) up front.
