The first results have begun to trickle in as Americans turn out in huge numbers to name the next President of the United States.
Winding queues of voters have hit polling stations around the country to choose between Donald Trump and Democratic challenger Joe Biden in a contest which has been dominated by coronavirus and anti-racism demonstrations.
As the first polls began to close across seven states, Mr Trump was projected to win Kentucky and Indiana, while Mr Biden was set to win Vermont and Virginia.
A third of US voters listed the economy as the issue that mattered most to them when making their presidential selection while two out of 10 cited Covid-19, according to an Edison Research exit poll.
