Chelsea are the kings of London in the Premier League ahead of Wednesday’s visit to West Ham, while David Moyes’ side are propping up the table… but where does your team rank in the capital mini-league this season?
- Chelsea take on West Ham in another London derby on Wednesday evening
- Arsenal, Spurs and Crystal Palace are the Premier League’s other London sides
- Sportsmail has taken a look at how the teams have performed against each other
Both teams have real reasons to fight for a win when they meet on the pitch. Chelsea are desperate to keep picking up points as they look to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
West Ham, meanwhile, are 17th, level on points with Bournemouth in the relegation zone.

West Ham, meanwhile, are battling against relegation from the Premier League this season
To put it simply, David Moyes and his players need to start picking up wins sooner rather than later or they run the real risk of being relegated to the Championship.
There are also bragging rights over the rest of the city at stake for one of the sides, and a desperate need to improve in a certain mini-league for the other.
Sportsmail has crunched the numbers and it has emerged that Frank Lampard’s side have been the top team when it comes to taking on their city rivals this season.
Chelsea have managed to pick up 13 points from their single win against Crystal Palace, two wins against Spurs and victory and draw against Arsenal.
The Hammers have struggled in matches against other London sides – like Spurs – this season
West Ham, meanwhile, have only won one of their matches against teams from London, collecting three points in total as they have lost the other six.
Ironically, their only win has been against Chelsea in their match at Stamford Bridge back in November.
Spurs, meanwhile, are second in the London league with 10 points. They have lost two against Chelsea, drawn against Arsenal, while beating West Ham twice and Crystal Palace once.
Arsenal are third, also on 10 points but behind Spurs because they have played one game more – seven to their fierce rival’s six.
They drew one match against Chelsea and lost the other, have drawn twice against Crystal Palace and beaten West Ham home and away.
Arsenal have managed to pick up results, while Crystal Palace have been mediocre in derbies
As mentioned above, their solitary clash with Spurs so far this season was a 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium.
Roy Hodgson’s Eagles have played six intra-London games and have a record of two wins – both against West Ham – two draws – both against Arsenal – and two defeats – one each for Spurs and Chelsea.
While Chelsea will not win the London mini-league if they beat West Ham, they will take a big step on Wednesday night. And they will be able to exact revenge for the defeat earlier this season on their own patch.
If bragging rights are the name of the game, Chelsea look set to lord it over the rest of the city.
