At one point he even pulls out the ‘elastico’ trick made famous by Ronaldinho.

He regularly picks up possession on halfway and then makes a mockery of anyone who attempted to make a challenge, using step-overs and feints to slice his way to goal.

Hudson-Odoi was also playing for Chelsea academy at the time and only two years after the video was filmed, was promoted to the Under-23s side.

His ascent has been rapid ever since and this season has been his breakthrough campaign for the Blues.

Concerned about a lack of game time under Maurizio Sarri, Hudson-Odoi handed in a transfer request as he wanted to join Bayern Munich in January but the club rejected it.

He has been called up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers and fans will be desperate to see the 18-year-old in action.

It seems incredible that he has turned from that talented schoolboy to member of the England squad in just four years.

His stratospheric rise could be capped by a first international cap against the Czech Republic on Friday or Montenegro on Monday.
