‘We’ve got a more positive vibe’: Callum Hudson-Odoi reveals Frank Lampard has lifted atmosphere inside Chelsea changing room – and that’s why he signed new five-year deal
- Callum Hudson-Odoi has signed a new long-term deal to stay at Stamford Bridge
- The teenager had looked set to leave Chelsea for Bayern Munich last January
- However, he has revealed new boss Frank Lampard has improved life at club
The England international winger has put pen to paper on a new five-year deal at the club, just six months on from what appeared an inevitable exit.
Since then there has been a change at the helm, with Lampard replacing Maurizio Sarri, and Hudson-Odoi has admitted that played a huge role in his decision to stick around.

‘The only thing [that has changed] is that we’ve got a more positive vibe in the changing room and on the pitch,’ Hudson-Odoi told the Evening Standard.
‘We are all happy I think because the manager has come in, he used to be a great player himself at the club, and now he has come in and we all give respect to what he has done for the club before.
‘I think the camp now is just more happy, more positive.’
Hudson-Odoi, who has made a big impact at Chelsea despite being just 18 years old, could have had his pick of clubs had he left, but it was Bayern Munich who led the chase for his signature.
