Coronavirus: Brighton participant assessments certain for Covid-19

An unnamed Brighton and Hove Albion player has tested for coronavirus, the club’s chief executive Paul Barber has confirmed.

Three members of Brighton’s first-team squad had undergone testing after showing symptoms of Covid-19.

“We’ve had three players tested, one has tested positive. We’re not testing them routinely, we’re only testing them when symptoms emerge,” said Barber.

“But the one that tested positive was just today, so that’s unfortunate but he’s OK and he’s obviously getting the care that he needs at the moment.”
