JK faces energy scarcity of 408 MW

Jammu, Dec 4:
Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing a shortfall of 408 megawatts (MW) of energy
provide all the way through the thick of wintry weather, officers mentioned on Wednesday.

The union territory is getting only one,959 MW electrical energy
in opposition to a requirement of two,367 MW, Commissioner-Secretary of Energy Construction
Division Hirdesh Kumar mentioned.

Jammu area, the dep. supplied 819 MW electrical energy, leading to a
shortfall of 120 MW, he mentioned.

In Kashmir area, the dep. supplied 1,140 MWs in opposition to
the limited call for of one,328 MW.

Kumar mentioned the unrestricted energy call for of Jammu and
Kashmir areas is 1,024 and 1,490 MW respectively.

The 2 union territories of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh
are witnessing critical chilly wave prerequisites with night time temperature staying under
freezing level in maximum spaces in Ladakh and Kashmir.
