Response to Survivor’s #MeToo Episode Was once Swift & Crucial

Survivor waded into new waters with an installment of season 39 that touched on #MeToo and beside the point touching.

In the Wednesday, Nov. 13 episode of Survivor: Island of the Idols, “We Made it to the Merge,” Kellee Kim raised issues about what she felt was once beside the point touching via fellow Vokai tribe member Dan Spilo. Manufacturers broke the fourth wall, a rarity for the long-running fact display, and interviewed Kellee about it.

“This is not only one individual,” she stated in a confessional. “It is a trend. It takes 5 other folks to be like, ‘Guy, the way in which I am feeling about that is in truth actual. It is not in my head. I am not overreacting to it.’ He is actually accomplished this stuff to 5 other ladies on this sport. That sucks. That completely, completely sucks.”

Then, manufacturers spoke to the entire contestants as a bunch and in my view. However it is what took place within the sport that raised eyebrows.

Contestants Elizabeth Beisel and Missy Byrd used Kellee’s proceedings and fabricated interactions between Elizabeth and Dan to make Dan a goal of different contestants. Their plan labored, Dan’s best friend Janet Carbin voted in opposition to him, but if she discovered what Missy and Elizabeth did, Janet thought to be leaving the sport. The episode had various enthusiasts quitting the display.

Former contestant Daniel Rengering spoke out about what he referred to as a “anxious” scenario at the display.
